This yoga mat is made of 2 materials: top layer is made of natural cork and the bottom layer is made of natural high-density rubber. Cork is made from the bark of oak tree commonly found in Portugal. The natural rubber bottomed mat allows it to lay flat on the ground without sliding.

The cork for the mat is harvested by stripping down the bark of the trees, which naturally regrows. In fact, the cork trees absorb more carbon dioxide in their stripped state. No trees are cut down in the process which makes it an ideal renewable resource. Any cork material that is leftover is reused to make new products and not wasted.
