How do I take care of my Cork Yoga mat?

Cork Yoga Mat

  • Cork is a naturally anti-microbial material. It eliminates odour, bacteria and germs while repelling molds & mildew. Hence it is a low maintenance self-cleaning mat and provides germ and odour free hygienic surface for years. This means that you do not need to clean this regularly.
  • After practise, air dry before you roll & put it away.
  • If needed, gently wipe with wet soft clean cloth with warm water.
  • Use mild soap with water if necessary to remove stains.
  • Do not machine wash.
  • Avoid prolonged sun exposure.
  • Wipe with wet towel to remove floating ink if any before first use
  • Never fold or crease your mat, roll it up loosely.

How do I take care of my Microfibre Yoga mat?

  • Gently wipe the mat using cold water on a soft clean cloth.
  • For extra cleaning, use water mixed with mild detergent. Hang to air dry in the shade
  • A gentle/delicate machine wash cycle in cold water & mild detergent (no bleach) can be used but we do not advise this as overtime it may cause the edges of the microfibre to peel & curl upwards
  • To speed up drying, wrap mat in a towel and squeeze out excess water
  • Do not put in the dryer
  • Air Dry before you roll & put it away after every practise
  • For storage, roll the mat with the printed side out. Never fold or crease your mat, roll it up loosely
  • Avoid direct sun exposure
  • Wipe with wet cloth to remove floating ink if any before first use
  • Keep away from oil or oil-based soaps & grease

How do I take care of my PU Yoga mat?

  • Gently wipe down the mat using cold water on a soft clean cloth
  • Air Dry before you roll & put it away after every practise
  • Avoid direct sun exposure
  • For storage, roll the mat with the printed side out. Never fold or crease your mat, roll it up loosely
  • Wipe with wet cloth to remove floating ink if any before first use
  • Keep away from oil & grease
  • Keep away from sharp & harsh objects
  • With a lot of PU yoga mats, sometimes during your practice you may find sweat marks on your mat where your hands and feet have been. This does occur on PU Yoga Mats and tends to be more noticeable upon lighter coloured ones

What kind of printing inks do you use for your yoga mat?

Printing inks used on are mats are water based and 100% eco-friendly that are non- toxic for the skin & breathing

Any grip tips if my mat is slightly slippery?

Cork Mat: The cork surface increases grip when wet & is sweat friendly. If you find that your mat is a little slippery before you start your practice, you can sprinkle some water on your mat where your hand & feet go before the practice for added traction.

Microfibre Mats: Our microfibre mats come with a special anti – slip coating layer & slipping should not be a concern on these.

Are any trees cut down to make the cork mats?

Our cork yoga mats are made out of natural cork & rubber that are 100% plant based. These mats are free of any harsh chemicals which means that you are not breathing any toxic chemicals when in touch with the mat. The cork for the mat is harvested by stripping down the bark of the trees, which naturally regrows. No trees are cut down in the process which makes it an ideal renewable resource. Any cork material that is leftover is reused to make new products and not wasted.
